

Jessica Byron

Jessica is a registered yoga teacher and professional yoga therapist*. She has been in the health care field for over 34 years and a student of yoga and meditation for over 30 years. Jessica teaches in order to share with clients the experience of yoga as a path of self-discovery and transformation.
Jessica completed her initial yoga teacher training with Swami Maha-Tarananda, studied meditation with Sri Ekanath Easwaran of the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation and subsequently studied Integrative Yoga Therapy and Functional Yoga Therapy with Joseph and Lilian LePage and Maria KaliMa. Jessica has additional certification in Yoga for Anxiety, PTSD, TIY (Trauma Informed Yoga), Restorative Yoga, Back Care, Aqua Yoga, Yoga for Seniors. and training with Connected Warriors and Street Yoga (for homeless and at-risk youth). She studied Somatic Yoga with Eleanor Criswell, and Subtle Yoga with Kristine Kaoverri Webber. She has also studied with Nischala Joy Devi and is certified with her Yoga of the Heart®, Cardiac and Cancer Training. Jessica has previously been part of Yoga Connection’s teaching faculty for the Hatha Teacher Training program and Personal Meditation and Yoga Program. She has also served as assistant faculty for Integrative Yoga Therapy Module 1 and is primary faculty for Sundara Yoga Therapy’s Advanced Yoga Therapy Teacher Training for Anxiety, Panic and PTSD and the yoga program for the Tucson-based Foundation for Cardiovascular Health. Jessica also serves as guest faculty for 3 other AZ-based 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training programs. Jessica also completed a two year program with Tacheria in Interfaith Spirituality, learning about various paths for companioning others on their journeys in health and wholeness. She completed a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program, a proven program to address stress, chronic illness and pain with the tools of mindfulness. Jessica retired from the practice of medicine in 2013 to focus on the further study and teaching of yoga and integrative yoga therapy. She is a certified yoga therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and a member of the Subtle Yoga Resilience Society.
With Healing Path Yoga, LLC, Jessica is offering hatha yoga, mindfulness and relaxation practices, guided meditation, aqua yoga, adaptive yoga, and yoga therapy* for groups or individuals, as well as yoga teacher training and mentoring.
